So if the turntable killed the guitar and then Guitar Hero brought the rock back, then Beaterator is about flip it around and make us all want to be music producers.
Built by Rockstar Games, beats supplied Timbaland and available on the PSP, PSP Go and the iPhone, Beaterator is set to spawn a whole new breed of bedroom producers.
Having been lucky enough to play the demo, there are three things which I reckon will make this big:
Firstly, it’s intuitive; you really don’t have to have studied music to make music.
Secondly (and frankly what you would expect from Rockstar), it’s deep, both in terms of content and functionality.
Finally, and this is interesting bit, your music can be shared. So once you’ve mixed your masterpiece, you could post it on the Rockstar Social Club, or post it on a blog, send it to your friends (from your iPhone) or even play it in a club.
Suddenly Guitar Hero looks a bit lame.
