The content not only proliferates the culture (creating more consumers), but it also embeds the brand squarely in the middle of it. It's the A+ of authenticity, because authenticity drives respect and respect drives sales.
Nike came in late in the game and many eyebrow were raised; how does a mainstream sports brand connect to consumers within an anti-mainstream culture? Well, high quality video entertainment seems to work pretty well.
